Where to post PR job openings

One of the questions I get asked frequently is “where should I post my open communication and PR role?”

So I sat down and made a round-up list of some of our favorites. 

Plus, we’ve included other paid and free options that we’ve either a) heard good things about or b) our clients have had good first-hand success with.

Places We’ve Personally Had Good Success 

  1. Idealist

    1. Cause-driven jobs

    2. Typically more affordable than other paid options

    3. National reach, but can filter locally 

  2. The Communications Network

    1. Specifically focused on communications jobs in the nonprofit sphere 

  3. Advocacy or communications listservs 

    1. Listservs that you’re already on as part of a coalition, or other professional association groups, are a great place to post job openings

    2. For example, we’ve found success with RadComms and listservs such as Progressive Communicators of DC 

  4. Professional-focused social media groups

    1. Search out and join LinkedIn groups (ie: Public Relations and Communications Professionals) that have large memberships in the related field 

    2. Search out Facebook groups that have large memberships in the related field

    1. Find your local chapter and follow the specific directions for posting a job 

    2. Depending on the chapter, listings can be free or paid

    1. Mission is to advance the practice of Hispanic public relations as a marketing discipline

    1. Assists multicultural candidates in landing jobs at top firms and companies
