The Background

Magnet Schools of America (MSA) stands as the national voice for magnet and theme-based schools, such as arts, STEM or multi-lingual schools. MSA supports a vast network of school leaders, helping them build and lead high-quality magnet schools. In an increasingly competitive environment, it’s critical that magnet school leaders know how to stand out among private, charter and traditional schools.


The Challenge

In today's complex education landscape, clearly showing the value of magnet programs and effectively engaging with potential parents isn't just important. It's essential. MSA members — passionate leaders and educators from across the nation — needed to sharpen their communication and marketing skills to do so.

 

 
 

Our Solution

MSA recognized the need for practical, targeted training to help members confidently market their schools and programs to new families. We teamed up with MSA leadership to deliver a training program that wasn't just informative, but immediately useful for MSA members.

 

Here’s how we tackled it together.

 
  • Getting the content right. We didn't guess. We worked hand-in-hand with MSA to pinpoint the most critical learning goals and built the training content around magnet school leaders’ real-world needs.

  • Making learning stick. Forget dry lectures. We facilitated interactive workshops that blended expert guidance with hands-on exercises, ensuring participants learned by doing. We never go more than 20 minutes without a break, practice session or opportunity for questions in any of our trainings.

  • Focusing on what works. Theory is nice, but action matters. We equipped attendees with clear messaging tactics and practical advocacy planning tools they could use the very next day.

  • Cutting through the noise. People remember facts up to 22 times more when they’re connected with a story! We helped participants craft clear, compelling stories about their schools' impact and showed them how to connect authentically with everyone from policymakers to parents.
